INSTRUCTION FOR RYA CERTIFICATION

• As an RYA Cruising Instructor I am licensed to train you in the RYA Competent Crew and Day Skipper (Sail) Practical Courses as well as the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

​

• Courses I run have to be accredited through Karen & Alex at Hamble Point Sailing School  (HPSS - A registered RYA Sailing School) to comply with legislation and to offer certification. HPSS will carry out the necessary checks and deal with the money.

​

• RYA Competent Crew requires no experience 

​

• RYA Day Skipper (Sail) requires completion of a Theory Course to enable certification. This can be done through HPSS - Online

​

       I would recommend you complete this before you take your practical course

​

• RYA Day Skipper (Sail) requires some previous practical experience

​

  

​

• Both Day Skipper & Competent Crew practical courses run over a 5 day course and can be run together (Ideal for families)

​

COACHING

• If you decide not to go the RYA Accreditation route and instead just want to be confident in handling or delivering your own boat then I can coach you aboard your own boat or aboard Kasara
